Here are a few of the best beach destinations in Belize:
- Ambergris Caye Located just a short flight or ferry from Belize City, is the largest island in Belize and home to the popular town of San Pedro. The island has pristine beaches, but the main draw is the proximity to the barrier reef, ideal for snorkeling and diving.
- Placencia Peninsula About three hours from Belize City by car, offers a laid-back vibe, miles of sandy beaches, and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Placencia Village is known for its colorful buildings, beach bars, and delicious seafood.
- Hopkins Village Just two hours away from San Ignacio is a traditional Garifuna village with a beautiful, less-touristy beach. The village has a few eco-lodges and beach resorts, and you can take boat trips to the nearby reef from here.
