In 2023, 36.7 million tourists visited major cities and historic sites throughout Turkey—making it the sixth most visited place in the world.

Most importantly, Turkish authorities have tighten security and develop tourism-related infrastructure to ensure safety and maintain growth in tourism numbers.
Instanbul’s Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque are must-see attractions. This city alone welcomes nearly 12 million visitors each year.
When traveling in Turkey, make sure to try Gaziantep Cuisine, which comes from the southeastern Turkish province of the same name. It is included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Air infrastructure is well-developed throughout Turkey, with over 100 airports (about 20 of them are international). So, Istanbul’s three major airports receive most of the country’s air traffic.

Medical Tourism In Turkey
In short, Turkey has made major improvements to its health care provisions over the past few decades, and the country’s life expectancy has gone up. Infant mortality has declined as a result.
Life expectancy in Turkey is now 78.6 years. That’s three places ahead of the United States.
Also, Turkey provides universal public health care since 2003, financed through Social Security. It comes in at number 70 on the WHO’s rankings.
However, the reason this country is one of the world’s top medical tourism destinations isn’t because of its public health care system.
