          When to Travel in Mexico

Most traveling in Mexico occurs during the vacation periods of the U.S. and Canada, as a majority of Mexico’s tourist reside in North America.

The spring break period and summer months are especially great for young travelers and families that want to spend extended periods in country.

The North American winter months, November to February, are particularly great for older travelers often referred to as “snow birds,” wanting to escape the cold.

The fall and late spring can be good times to find cheaper flights if costs are of concern.

Depending on where you want to travel in Mexico, there are more and less ideal times of the year to go.

For example, if you are wanting to visit Cancun, we don’t recommend the “spring break period,” that is unless you are in search of a party atmosphere.

Many of the less-touristic destinations are easier to travel through most of the year and foreigners who spend money and stimulate the small town economies are readily welcomed.

When packing for Mexico, it is important to consider where your journey will take you. Mexico is a large country and has a variety of climate regions, from warm coasts to high mountains.

Plus, if you are like most people traveling in Mexico, you are probably seeking sun and sand. If this is the case, we recommend bringing the following items:

              • Sun screen (Higher is better, UV rays in Mexico are stronger than in the U.S.)
              • Bathing suits
              • Sun glasses
              • Sandals

If you are one of the travelers looking to explore Mexico beyond the beaches, you are in for a treat.

                  Where To Travel In Mexico

Among Mexico’s popoular destinations you will find Mayan ruins, beaches and mountain sights.

Most importantly, traveling in Mexico is all about enjoying a rich culture, relaxing vibes, and great affordability according to the place you choose to visit.

Whether you’re soaking up the peaceful atmosphere by Oaxaca or wandering through the historic streets of San Miguel de Allende, you can rest easy knowing that Mexico is a fantastic choice for a comfortable stay.

                  Pacific Coast

If you are traveling the Pacific coast of Mexico, we recommend a few places. Puerto Vallarta is perfect for retirees looking for fine dining, other expats, and all-inclusive amenities.

Also, Mazatlan is another great choice, known for it’s rich culture, historic areas, and big-game fishing. And, make sure to visit Huatulco.

                  Caribbean Coast

On the Caribbean coast of Mexico, we recommend visiting the Riviera Maya. This area consists of Playa del Carmen and Tulum.

Above all, there are many all-inclusive resorts and beautiful beaches. Tulum is a quaint, but progressing town with activities from yoga to snorkeling.

                    Inland

Mexico City is an often-misrepresented city that has a ton of culture and lots to offer. The city has a population over 20 million and a crime rate well below many major U.S. cities.

Guanajuato is another inland location attracting travelers in Mexico.  It has a wonderful vibe, brightly colored homes, and winding streets.
