Dreading winter?
Tired of shoveling snow and scraping ice from your windshield? Dreaming of a sunny, warm escape?
In this LIOS Podcast, Kathleen and Lief share their best picks for where to go to never have to worry about winter again.
Here are their options for a snow-free retirement.
Mexico
This is the nearest and easiest option. There are many destinations you can choose from including in the Pacific and the Caribbean. Mexico also offers mountain destinations. Keep in mind if you choose to go to the Pacific or Caribbean areas the weather will be warm or hot. If you head to the mountains, you’ll find spring-like weather.
Panama
Panama can be hot in the areas near the coast, but the highlands are much cooler. Panama doesn’t have hot and cold seasons, instead, it has dry and wet seasons. The dry season usually starts around mid-December and the worst months of the rainy season are October and November. A plus of the Hub of the Americas is that there are no hurricanes.
Belize
Like Mexico, Belize is easily accessible for North Americans. Here, you can choose between pristine white-sand beaches and beautiful mountains. If you want cooler weather, you should head to Cayo.
Colombia
Colombia is a big country with a lot of options. Here are some:
Medellín:
You’ll have eternal spring-weather here. The highest that it gets during the day is 80°F and at night, it drops to 60°F.
Cartagena And Santa Marta:
If you prefer warm weather, these coastal options may be perfect for you.
Brazil
The Fortaleza area is a great option. It is a larger city, so if you’d prefer a less crowded area, the near areas outside Fortaleza might suit you best.
Portugal
In Portugal, you’ll enjoy four mild seasons. However, depending on where you choose to go, it can get warmer or colder. For instance, The Algarve can get hot during the Summer.
